Iraq's PMU dismantles terrorist outfit in Kirkuk

Issuing a statement on Monday, Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Unit (al-Hashd al-Sha'abi) announced that a terrorist network that planned to carry out a suicide attack in Kirkuk had been disbanded.
Two terrorist elements affiliated with the ISIS terror outfit were detained during the operation, according to the statement.
In December 2017, after nearly three and a half years of fighting with the ISIS terror outfit, which occupied about a third of Iraq, the Iraqi government announced the liberation of all its territories from ISIS hands.
The remaining ISIS elements are still operating in some areas of Baghdad, Saladin, Diyala, Kirkuk, Nineveh and Al Anbar provinces.
