The foreign ministers of Iran and Oman talked on Thursday about regional and international issues, including lifting the US sanctions on the Iranian nation.
Iran hails Oman over positive role in JCPOA talks
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian appreciated Oman's efforts in facilitating the process of sanction-lifting negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and other parties of the so-called international nuclear agreement or the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
In the new round of negotiations in Vienna, centered on lifting oppressive and illegal sanctions against Iran, which was held on August 4-8, several proposals were made by Enrique Mora, the coordinator of the European Union in the talks.
Amir-Abdollahian recalled Iran's goodwill and said that if Iran's economic benefits from the agreement were deemed to be fulfilled and in case the Islamic Republic of Iran's red lines were ensured to be observed, a new stage in the Vienna negotiations would begin.
"As long as everything is not agreed upon, it is not possible to certainly say a good and stable agreement will be reached," he noted.
The Omani foreign minister, for his part, expressed hope that a satisfactory result would be obtained in the coming nuclear talks.
On Monday evening, Iran sent its official and written responses to the European Union's proposed plan for revitalizing the JCPOA to the European side.
EU has described Iran's responses as "constructive" and is a kind of ball in America's court to revive this agreement with its flexibility.
