German tourists hail “magnificent” ambiance at Imam Reza shrine
A group of tourists from Germany and the Netherlands visited the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), eighth Shia Imam in the Iranian northeastern city of Mashhad describing the crowd of pilgrims and ambiance at the shrine as “very magnificent.”

Durian an active interaction at the Office for Foreign Pilgrims’ Affairs at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) a group of German and Dutch visitors discussed their views on Islam and divine religions, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
They praised Iranian nation as “very friendly and warm” and hailed the huge crowd of pilgrims inside the holy shrine as “very magnificent”.
The visit by foreign and non-Muslim visitors to the holy shrine of eighth Shia Imam are scheduled in line with expansion of interfaith dialogue and mutual understanding between followers of different religions.
Office for Foreign Pilgrims’ Affairs at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) has annual and occasional programs for visiting foreigners and tourists to the holy site.
A 14-person group of tourists from the Netherlands and Germany also visited carpet and central museums of Imam Reza holy shrine accompanied by an English-speaking guide.
Traditionally the visitors are welcomed with some cultural gifts as memorials.
